Africa series ventures is an anthology of memoirs about African travel, written by people from a number of different walks of life. Each book in the series shares a common theme and has some personal anecdotes that are interwoven throughout the book. It’s like a love letter to Africa written by a bunch of connected friends who share their love for the continent. Traveling solo is part of my happily-ever-after, but not all journey books are created equal. This one wasn’t; it felt too catered towards a certain audience and didn’t feel as fresh as others I read. I know what you’re thinking – what do I own? What am I reading at this point? I couldn’t have predicted exactly how many books I would be reading when starting with this trip list, which included: A novel set in Africa A memoir about going to Africa (first) A travelogue about traveling to another continent (second) – This will be my third time traveling to another country and its 3rd African adventure. I had also been reading travel writing before so knew there was potential for it on this list! Here goes nothing… Although this journey was very much in my mind from the get go, starting with this list only made me more inspired and ready to go back to it!
